Hi! My name is Miss Halma and I will be one of your teachers this year. I am so excited to work with each one of you this year! In order for me to get to know you, it’s important for you to get to know me. I grew up in a small town called Scotch Plains in New Jersey. New Jersey is an 11-hour drive (or a two-hour plane ride) from Michigan. In May I graduated from Michigan State University. Go Green! I majored in Special and Elementary Education, with a concentration in Social Studies. My favorite memory from college was watching Michigan State Basketball beat Duke in the Elite 8 in 2019! While at MSU I worked in the Student Union for 2 years, home to the famous Michigan State Dairy Store! My favorite flavor is sesquicentennial swirl.

A fun fact about me is that I am a twin! I grew up with two brothers, a mom and a dad. I also have a very adorable, 1-year old nephew. My twin-brother played Division 1 soccer in college at New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is now a civil engineer, which means he helps build things such as train tracks, bridges and buildings. My dad works in a hospital in the radiology department. That means he helps take X-rays of people when they get hurt.

In my free time I enjoy baking, reading and exercising. I also love watching Michigan State Basketball play! One of favorite places is the Jersey Shore. Each summer I spend a lot of time at the beach with my friends and family. It’s my dream to one day own a beach house.
I am so excited to work with Mr. C and the rest of you this school year! I cannot wait to teach you and I am interested to see all of the things you teach me. |
