Why should we discuss our ideas? |
Discussing what we learn helps us better understand our ideas and new information. It also gives us new perspectives we couldn’t come up with on our own.

GEOGRAPHYGeographers do lots of different things! Some look closely at different types of environments and try to figure out what the world looks like and how different people impact and change that image. Others work with officials to plan a city or new developments. Many work to educate others about the environment. They all focus their learning and research on the five main themes; Location, Place, Human/Environment Interaction, Movement, and Region.

Geography is the study of the Earth and the ways we interact with it.

EconomicsEconomists do really important work! They research, collect, and analyze data or look at it closely. Then they try to interpret the data or figure out what it means. They look at how people use what they have to get what they want and need and use that information to make future predictions. They analyze the pros and cons of buying and selling different goods and services and they compare and contrast different types of economies around the world.
|
Economics is the study of how people choose to use resources to get what they want/need.

HISTORYHistorians work hard to reconstruct the events of the past. They study artifacts and evaluate the authenticity or truthfulness of these sources, and try to sequence the events of what happened in a certain area or place. Most importantly, they interpret the evidence to come up with a theory of why these events may have happened. They share their theories and interpretations through academic papers, journals, lectures, books, and teaching.

History is the study of the past and its impact on the present.
