What is the value of looking at patterns in nature?
"It helps us know how to dress and what to expect from the weather." That's right. Observing the patterns in nature helps us understand what kind of weather to expect and that will help us to know what kinds of clothes to wear. For example when we see the foliage change color in autumn we can expect the temperature to get colder. So we might want to buy a coat if we don't have one. Because of the tilt of the earth, we have seasons. These seasons are a type of pattern for nature. In the spring, the flowers bloom. During the summer it gets hot, then in the fall the plants begin to wilt and become barren. And in the winter most places get snowfall. Because we understand these patterns in nature, we can prepare ourselves. Cities prepare to clear snow off of roads in the winter time, stores carry seasonal goods in preparation for the upcoming season, and people can prepare vacations and outings depending on weather patterns.
This week you will learn about the value of looking at patterns in nature and why people look for patterns in nature.
